Biosensor gets patent approved in China
Biosensor has been granted approval of an important patent by the Chinese patent authority, State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China. The patent protects the complicated chemical design on the sensor surface that allows BIOSENS® to detect minute amounts of narcotics and explosives.
– This is one of the most important patents for our technology and it is obviously a break-through for Biosensor’s product portfolio when a large market’s patent authority approves this, says Biosensor’s chief development officer, Per Månsson.
The patent protects a significant part of Biosensor’s detection technology in the analysis instrument and makes it difficult for competitors to use this technology in the application are of BIOSENS®. The problem with narcotics is pervasive in China and therefore this patent protection will allow market activities to be strengthened there as well.
